Darnell's Fall 2017 NBUS Challenge

Okay another NBUS card for Darnell's challenge. This card was going to be used for the CLBH but it was not finished soooooo it is now. I used the cute Newton (cat) which I colored with copics and paper pieced the coffee cup and added the sentiment. I die cut this piece with a cross stitch circle die from MFT, and attached to a snippet of last years's fall paper. I added the yellow leaves (they don't look like leaves) and then added some bling. I used this as a birthday card for a friend whose birthday is 10/1 and she loves cats and coffees.

Supplies:
Stamp - Newton's Nook "Newton Loves Coffee" (NBUS)
Your Next Stamp "Thanks a Latte' (sentiment)
Die - MFT - Cross Stitch Circle
Copics, snippets of paper, bling

NBUS Challenge 2017 - #12

Dear Irma, recently you talked about washi tape you bought at Mike's, so I bought some. For this challenge you talked about wacky sentiments - I had one. So here is my latest post using some more NBUS and the adorable wind-up mouse. I love using washi tape and my collection, thanks to you, continues to grow.

Supplies:
Stamp - Funny Bones RWD-391
  PTI - Cat's Meow
Washi Tape - Michael's (Mike's)

Darnell's NBUS Challenge - Fall 2017

A quirky card for Darnell's challenge. The stamp has been altered and I used a larger pineapple from a second stamp set which I cannot locate. I trimmed the sentiment and removed a smaller pineapple. I used the smooshing technique to make the background paper and when dry it was die cut. The pineapple was attached with mounting tape and then the piece was attached to a piece of dsp.

In my last post I mentioned my growing collection of NBUS so I took a photo. I might add the container could not hold any more pieces so there are some Christmas stamps (I hope I can find them) elsewhere.

Supplies:
Stamp - Funny Bones Riley & Co (RWD-528)
Die - Gina Marie
Ink - Copics, Distress
Paper - Neenah, SU!

Darnell's NBUS Challenge #12

Oh boy another Darnell challenge. I have been trying for over four hours to submit this card and I guess it is my server Cox. This cute little fellow is a chameleon and I looked on Google how to color him. I can say he has some darn colorful cousins. First I embossed the front of the kraft base card and then I used a nbus die cut from MFT, a flip card. It did not come easy to me how to die cut and which way it flipped even looking at YouTube and the help of  my honey. But having said that he is quite cute and he is also nbus. But using  two nbus's for this challenge my pile is only a tad bit smaller.

I spent the summer watching the grandsons a couple days a week and as such did not post any cards. But now that school is back in session I have some free time and first was the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and now the wonderful and entertaining Darnell, aka Miss Congeniality.

Supplies:
Die - MFT "Die-namics Flip Card" (nbus)
Stamp - Carabelle Studio "Camelon" (nbus)
Embossing Folder - Cuttlebug - ?
Other - Copics, Wink of Stella

Fall 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - #5

I like this sentiment as I have fond memories with friends over a cup of coffee. Two of my friends and I would get together at the local Starbucks have coffee and do a show and tell of the cards we had made. Sadly I moved three hours away. So this card is dedicated to Pat and Janet, we called ourselves the PB&J Design Team.
The card was stamped onto kraft paper, colored with Copics and a touch of Wink of Stella. I used a die cut combo Sugar Pea's Journal Card and attached the two pieces. The dsp and really rust cs are both from SU!. I distressed the sides of the kraft paper with a little chocolate chip ink.

2017 fall hop
This is my final card for this current challenge and a huge thank to Amy, her friends and all the sponsors and those who have commented on my cards. Blessings to all who have been impacted by the hurricanes.

Fall 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - #4

This card features Newton's Nook stamp and die set Cuppa Cactus. Living in Southern California we struggle with drought conditions often, as such our yard has many succulents in pots. I can look out the craft room window right now and see succulents on display. The images were stamped on Neenah and colored with Copics. I used VersaFine and clear embossing powder. The tag is from Paper Smooches (Gift Tags 2). The designer paper is a snippet of paper and the kraft cs is from SU!. I used SU! ribbon and MFT jute. Tag was attached with mounting foam.

2017 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - #3

A few weeks ago one of the ladies in my card making group taught us the Retiform Technique. Making cards for this current FCLBH all of my coffee stamps were scattered on the bed and I had an "ah ha" moment - make a rediform card. So quickly I made this card because Dancing With the Stars was due to start. If you have not made a card like this give it a try it is so much fun, and this one is probably not my best but you get the idea. There are many cards on Pinterest. I used several stamp sets, distress and SU! ink and a marker. I trimmed the piece and mounted onto SU! chocolate brown cs. I added the stitch line because it is a look I like.

2017 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - #1

My first card for the current Fall Cofffee Lovers Blog Hop. My last post was also for the CLBH but summer. Grandkids and summer vacation make for less card making time. I am tickled to make a few cards using the coffee stamps I continue to collect. Once again thanks Amy and friends.
For this card I used images from several companies among them Stamplorations, Art Impressions, Your Next Stamp and SU!. I pieced the cup from Stamplorations with a leaf paper, kraft paper stamped with a small leaf. The base card was stamped with coffee marks (YNS) and the sentiment (AI). The coffee cup was mounted.

Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop 2017 - Thanks a Latte

This is my last card for the current CLBH. A big thank you to Amy, her friends and the sponsors. I began the card by stamping the coffee beans with VersaMark. The beans and the coffee stain and the sentiment are from the set Thanks a Latte from Your Next Stamp. This set along with Jolee's Stickers "Coffee" were part of the prize package I received in the Spring CLBH from DoodleBugs. A quick and easy card using embellishments but a sincere thank you.

Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop

I began by playing with different dies from various sets and also stamped and fussy cut a coffee cup. I loved this Hawaiian paper from Michael's as well as the hombre paper. The coffee die cut was also from the packet of paper . I stamped the sentiment from Paper Smooches and then assembled all the pieces. I used a small Xyron machine and it worked okay with the die cuts.

Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop 2017

My card group recently made pocket cards and it was a fun technique. For this card I used two sets from Stamplorations, Framed Coffee Cup and Literary Caffeine-ations. The coffee cup was stamped onto dsp and then fussy cut. The sentiments were stamped onto snippets of colored cs and then die cut with MFT Textile Rectangle.

Summer 2017 Coffee Lovers Bloghop

One thing I love about summer is making sun tea. I am a coffee lover and love iced coffee in the summer but sun tea is inexpensive and easy to make. All you do is throw a couple of tea bags in a glass jar and set it outdoors and watch the clear water change to a lovely tan color. Yes you can make it on the kitchen counter top but it is not the same as letting the sun do its magic.
The stamp set I have used is NBUS and it is Teatime from Rubbernecker. The image was colored with copics and die cut with MFT pierced circle and mounted onto a cute summery piece of designer paper from Craft Smith. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches summer Lovin and it was mounted onto a snippet of turquoise cs.

2017 Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop

This is my first card for the Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop and I am using a die which I won in the previous CLBH - thank you Doodlebugs. The die is from Poppy and I cut it twice once with a piece of background paper I made doing the marbling effect with shaving cream and acrylic paint, the second is a snippet of turquoise cs. The main background paper is my first attempt using Distress Oxide ink and the smooshing technique. I used a sentiment from Stamplorations Big Grins.

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Make it Masculine

This card is being entered in Simon Says Masculine challenge. Recently I purchased a few die cuts from a company new to me, Gina Marie Designs. I really had fun cutting  the images from pieces of background paper. The background paper for this card I made using the smooshing technique. The sentiment was stamped in VersaMark and embossed with white embossing powder. I chose to trim the image and then angle it onto a piece of aqua card stock. Lastly I attached pearl bling.

Supplies:
Dies- Gina Marie
Paper - unknown
Stamp - Hero Arts - unknown

The Flower Challenge #9 'Anything Goes'

Outside our front door we have an old laundry tub that belonged to my in-laws. At Christmas it contains poinsettias and now for spring I have a pot of geraniums. I searched google to find a good photo to use for the colors. Geraniums are one of my favorite flowers and I especially love this color. A friend brought me a cutting and I stuck in the ground and later I replanted it in the pot, not the tub.

On watercolor paper I stamped the image and then used distress inks and an aqua brush. When the image was dry I die cut it and then mounted it onto a lighter weight watercolor card stock. Wink of Stella was used in the center of the flowers.

Supplies:
Stamp - Stampendous "Geraniums"
Die Cut - MFT Stitched Scallop Oval
Paper - 140#, 90#  watercolor paper
Inks - VersaMark, Distress
Other - Wink of Stella

Happy Little Stampers May CAS - RAIN

This card is going to a friend who is a cat lover and her two yellow tabbies are large. This will be a thank you card for my friend.
The stamp is from Lili of the Valley and I colored it with Copics and then die cut the image as well as yellow cardstock with a die from Lil Inkers. The sun is also Lil Inkers. Lastly I used Wink of Stella on the puddle and the rain drops.

CAS Watercolour May Challenge

For the May challenge I chose this stamp set from Unity. I had my doubts as to how well it would color so I began by sponging a portion of the card with a few distress inks and a light touch and let it dry. Next I stamped and heat embossed and then decided to try and color the flowers with distress inks and water brushes and I liked it. I attached the piece with mounting tape to white card stock. That is it. The moral I guess is just keep trying because I honestly tried to sell this NBUS at the last card making group garage sale. Silly me.

Supplies:
Stamp set - Unity "Books and Blossums"
Inks - Distress inks, VersaFine
Other - 140# watercolor paper, embossing powder

Seize the Birthday: Anything Goes

The card I am submitting for the current challenge at Seize the Birthday uses Yupo paper and alcohol inks. My card making group recently used these two items for the first time. Usually we have just used the alcohol ink and glossy paper. This image is particularly bold because of the brand of ink I chose and it was a little "wow," but once I trimmed the piece and mounted on white paper I preferred the look. The boldness of the ink required a bold sentiment.

Supplies:
Paper - Yupo, Michaels 110# white
Ink - Pinata alcohol inks, VersaFine

The Flower Challenge Sketch #7

I love the color combination of black and white and this check piece of paper went well with the zig colored flowers. This card is being submitted to The Flower Challenge which is using this sketch. I like this kind of sketch where a stamped image is the focal point and yet the card is still CAS.

Supplies:
MFT pierced circle die
Lawn Fawn Flutter By stamp set
watercolor paper, snippet, Michaels
VerrsaFine ink, Zigs, embossing powder

Darnell's NBUS Challenge #11

I am going to call this stamp the poor little butterfly. This is a NBUS stamp for me but prior to my acquiring it someone had the audacity to use it with paint and as such I bought it in poor shape. I am ready to participate in my card group's garage sale and plb was in the sell box. Today I looked at the stamp and thought I would give it a try, so I used VersaMark and no luck, so I tried VersaFine and embossing powder. PLB looked okay so I decided to sponge and mask it as I will be teaching such a class next week. I used distress inks and distress markers to color and stamped and embossed the sentiment. Then I added water droplets and wink of stella. After I trimmed the front panel I attached the blue paper mat and then glued to the base card. Chapter two of the PLBS - a card maker friend is challenging our group to submit a card using the tic-tac-toe layout for our garage sale. This card would work except for ribbon so in my I never use stash of ribbon I found white organza and tied the delicate bow. I like the card and decided I would deliver it  next week when I attend a memorial for a friend. The end.

Coming April 1-11, 2017

Supplies:
Paper - Neenah, Kelly
Ink - Distress, VersaFine
Other - Wink of Stella, embossing powder
Stamp - Paper Smooches sentiment, PLB unknown
