NBUS Challenge #9 - NBUS and CASE

This week Darnell has asked us to not only use a NBUS product but CASE a card. I chose this new stamp set from MFT and selected the CASE card which I found on Pinterest. This card which I cased is similar to my style of card making using Copics, a die, stencil, distress inks, embossing and a fun stamp. The card maker I chose is Kuni from kunisbastelblog.blogspot.com.
Typically I do not case a card but because Kuni and I share a similar style of card it was easy for me to case.

CASology: Week 232: CUT

The guest designer at CASology this week is Anita from France. In October my husband and I had the wonderful experience of meeting Anita and her brother while we were in Bordeux. I am happy to make a card in her honor - she is very special.
This was an easy card to put together I used arrow dies from MFT and die cut onto a piece of stenciled paper which was in my UFO box. The sentiment (MFT) was stamped and heat embossed, and I used a corner punch on the corners before attaching to white cs.

Supplies: Die Cuts - MFT Feathers and Arrows
Stamp - MFT Contemporary Roses (sentiment)
  Punch - SU!

NBUS Challenge #8 "Colored Pencils on Kraft"

Congrats Darnell on your Blog Birthaversary Surprise Challenge and celebrating  five years of your blog and 46 years of wedded bliss to Mister Kevin.

For this first week of your NBUS challenge I chose these stamps from Purple Onion. For those who do not know the stamps come individually and one creates their own scene, so this card used three stamps and the sentiment and all are from PO. First I stamped with VersaFine ink on SU! crumb cake (kraft) paper and then  heat embossed and colored with Derwent Inktense colored pencils and a SU! blender pen. I used black cs to mat the image and then popped it up with mounting tape and attached to the base card (kraft).

CAS Mix Up Card Challenge January 2017

Stamping - Liquid Color - Embossing - Die Cutting

My card making group played with alcohol inks last week. For this piece I used glossy paper and this was the first generation and the second and third pieces were much lighter in color and I used all three pieces in cards. I trimmed the piece with a pierced MFT die and then matted with SU! pink passion cs. The butterfly is a die/set combo from MFT and I used gold embossing powder on it as well as the sentiment.
This piece is brighter than I would normally use but I only had three inks. This card will be sent to two very old and dear friends who will be celebrating 51 years of wedded bliss. Honestly I love the font on the sentiment and I think it is SU!

CAS Watercolour Card Challenge - January 2017 SNOWFLAKE

This seems like a perfect January birthday card and I have someone in mind. I began by doing emboss resist onto water color paper  and using VersaMark I stamped the snowflakes and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Next I sponged distress ink onto the piece and brushed water around the snowflakes and wiped off the excess water, but added a few droplets. The sentiment was stamped onto vellum and I embossed with gold embossing powder, which I love. This piece was attached to  the focal piece and then with mounting tape attached to SU! tempting turquoise, but I meant to use white. Oh well. The stamp set and sentiment are MFT Snowflake Spendor.

Freshly Made Sketches #269

I dislike starting the new year needing a sympathy card. Last week my card group worked with alcohol inks and this is part of one of the pieces of background paper I made (2nd generation). The layout is the current sketch for Freshly Made Sketches. After trimming the background paper and attaching to the card base I stamped and embossed the sentiment. The butterfly was stamped, heat embossed and die cut. I stamped a small amount of ink with a splatter stamp and then attached the butterfly. Lastly I added some pearl bling.

Stamp/Die MFT "Winged Beauty"
Sentiment - PTI
Paper - SU! Pink Passion, misc.

CASology: Week 230: COLD

Happy New Year! My first card for 2017 and I chose this cute image and sentiment from Darice, which I colored with Copics. The embossing folder which once was part of a set (?) is from Cuttlebug.
I hope all of you in cold weather can stay warm and craft. Today in San Diego there is some sun but much needed rain is on its way.
