Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - Palm Tree Mug

I began this card by stamping and heat embossing the mug and the palm tree stamps and then coloring with Copics. Last night prior to going to bed I played with one of my favorite techniques  embossing folder, ink and water but I was not crazy with the three looks I made. So this morning I got up way too early to work on the card and decided to use my "go to" look of trimming the background paper and matting. It amazes me how often I use this look but it is a great way to use handmade background paper and once the paper is trimmed it looks so much better - kinda like when you really need a haircut. I inked and embossed the sentiment and popped up the mug and lastly added wink of stella to the palm tree. To make this card I used products from four different companies (not counting paper, ink etc.).

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

My first card for the latest coffee blog hop and I am using a very old stamp and a new NBUS. The image was stamped and heat embossed and colored with copics and then fussy cut. I also stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and then assembled all the pieces and rounded all the corners.

CAS Mix Up Card Challenge June 2016

This card uses a nice die cut set from Sugar Pea Designs and it came in the Stamp of Approval Young at Heart box. I use these two dies all the time. The flower stamp was stamped onto a piece of sponged watercolor paper and then heat embossed with gold powder. I die cut this piece and then die cut the snippet of designer paper with another die from the same set. I used a snippet of paper and then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment. The focal piece was popped up onto a piece of white card stock.

CAS Mix Up June, CASology, Lulu's Card

This is a special card I made to send to a young girl who was involved in a horrific carnival ride accident. When I read the story today on line I called the hospital to see if cards can be sent to this brave young girl. As such I made this card and I am submitting it to both the June CAS Mix Up Challenge and the current CASology with the cue word of  sunshine. I die cut the sun and the dino which I colored with copics. The background was sponged with distress inks on watercolor paper.

CAS Mix Up Challenge May 2016

The background for this card is a stencil but I was not happy with it when I made it and it was placed in the UFO box. This charming bird was stamped and heat embossed and water colored. In looking for some background paper look what appeared and it looks like bird footprints. Next I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and then attached the bird which I had fussy cut.  I matted the card in black card stock and then attached to white.

Seize the Birthday "Anything Goes"

For this challenge I used a previously colored background paper that I made in a workshop last month. The circle background paper used a stencil and distress inks on watercolor paper. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed. I die cut the balloon and then stamped the string. This piece was attached to SU! coastal cabana.

CAS Mix Up May Challenge

Stamping, Heat Embossing, Die Cut, Water Splatter

This card for the May CAS Mix Up challenge is for someone special. My acupuncturist just earned her doctorate and I am not only happy for her but proud of her for  pursuing this degree. She has been a major part of my medical issues for the past four years. Returning to school in the later years of one's life is not easy and it takes a great deal of determination and organization while continuing her practice.

I began by using a snippet of textured paper to die cut two pieces of the design which I glued with NBUS multi medium matte. Next I sponged distress ink onto watercolor paper and splattered with water. The stamp was disassembled so I just had congratulations and it was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. After attaching the die cut to the focal piece it was mounted onto a piece of pretty sparkly aqua paper (a snippet). I chose to mount this onto watercolor paper in a wonky angle.  Lastly I attached three small pearls.
