CAS(E) this Sketch! #193

I selected this sketch to share with my card making group for this week's get-together. Also I am sharing die cuts and this inlaid design from Paper Smooches works well with the sketch.
I used snippets of card stock as well as a piece of watercolor paper colored with Brushos. The sentiment is from WPlus9 Doodle Buds.

Sugar Pea Designs - Mix it Up Challenge #15

Lately I have begun to share card sketches with the ladies in my card making group. This week I selected this sketch from Sugar Pea Designs#15 and so I decided to post the card I made. This image is NBUS (never before used) and an older one from SU! which I purchased at a garage sale. I chose to stamp and heat emboss and then watercolor using distress inks.

Stamps - Inspired by Stamping "Beautiful Iris" (sentiment), SU! "A Happy Thing" (image)
Paper - SU! snippets, watercolor
Inks - Versafine, Distress Inks
Other - embossing powder

Note: Anita from France shared how to recycle a Wink of Stella pen when it was empty. This makes for a nice paint brush and there is a little bit of glitter in the water. You simply take the pen apart and pry off the black (I used scissors), filled with water and use. Thanks Anita.

NBUS Challenge #7 Anything Goes

This is my third and last entry into Darnell's NBUS challenge and both stamps are NBUS. I heat embossed both the image and the sentiment, and colored Granny with Copics. She was matted onto black cs and attached to a piece of designer paper. The sentiment was also mounted onto black cs but I popped it up with dimensionals.
I found this saying pretty funny and it made me think of myself. My choice of non-profanity words would be, "oh thunder," and "dagnabit." One has to be careful around the little kids.
Thanks Darnell for all your hard work and for all the pleasure you give the members of your fan club.

Stamps - Funny Bones by Riley & Co. "Swearing," Art Impressions, "Golden Oldies" (UMI1165
Paper - Neenah, snippet of designer paper, SU!black cs
Other - Copics, Versafine, embossing powder

NBUS Challenge #7 - Anything Goes with NBUS!

This is my second card for the challenge and I am using two NBUS products. First I stamped the ballerina and sentiment from MFT on Neenah paper and colored with Copics. Secondly I die cut with a new die from the latest Stamp of Approval kit. I punched a hole and added SU! ribbon and added five pearl pieces of bling. This card is for my granddaughter who turns five in October. When I purchased this stamp set a while ago it was so I could make a card for Kiera. Below is my inspiration photo.

Stamp - MFT "Tutu Cute" (NBUS)
Die Cut - Lovely Notes Collection from Stamp of Approval (NBUS)
Paper - Neenah, Lasting Impressions
Other - ribbon SU! Pretty in Pink, pearls (Michaels), Wink of Stella

NBUS Challenge #7 - Anything Goes with NBUS!

Wow another Darnell challenge. Thanks Miss Darnell for all the hard work you do to make the challenges unique and fun - just like you. All the stamps are from MFT and the NBUS is the beach chairs. First I stamped the watercolor backdrop in SU Baja Breeze and the chairs and sentiment were stamped in VersaFine and heat embossed. After trimming this piece I mounted it onto BB card stock and the white base card. It really makes a nice card in my humble opinion. The other image in the set is swaying palm trees with a hammock.

Stamps - MFT "The Beach," "WC Backdrops"
Ink - SU! Baja Breeze, VersaFine Onyx Black
Paper - Neenah, Michaels 110# cs, SU! Baja Breeze
Other - Zing! Clear embossing powder

Paper Smooches August 2016 "Friendship"

This is only the second time I have entered a card to a Paper Smooches challenge. I must admit I kinda collect the stamps and use them but not in PS challenges. For this card I used stamps from three different sets. In my scrap box I found this piece of previously die cut designer paper. The images  were stamped in Memento ink and colored with Copics. A smidge of Distress ink was sponged for the sand and sky and then I added a little line work. Lastly I added some hemp cord.

Stamps - Paper Smooches: Delightful Greetings, My Peeps, Summer Lovin
Ink - Memento, Copics, Distress Ink
Paper - Neenah, Lasting Impressions
Other - MFT Hemp Cord, Copic Multi Liner

Seize the Birthday "Anything Goes" Birthday

I like making a card specifically for one person in particular. This year one of my new students is into anything with a coastal/ocean theme and in particular mermaids. I found this adorable stamp and selected it to make a card for my friend. I began by stamping with Memento ink onto Neenah paper and coloring with copics. Next I used a new stencil from MFT and lightly stenciled with Distress ink tumbled glass. I die cut this piece with a scalloped die from Sugar Pea, and then cut a mat from orchid opulence paper. After attaching this image to baja breeze cs at an angle and then applied some Wink of Stella, Glossy Accents and some lavender crystals on her fish tail.

Stamps - Impression Obsession (D19179) Mermaid, Hero Arts (CL372) Sentiment
Paper - Neenah, SU!
Stencil - MFT Circle Grid
Die Cut - Sugar Cut Birthday Journal Card
Inks - Memento, Copics, Distress
