CASology: Week 119 GHOST

This card was made for CASology and all my Halloween cards have been made and mailed. But I know someone special I can give it to. A ghost stamp? This is all I have, I could have made a mummy and have a cute stamp but this is cute too. I felt the image was too detailed to use copics for a CAS card, so I stamped the image first in brown and then london fog and london fog won. Next I stamped in black and colored the ghost only in Copics and Gelly Roll pens. I fussy cut the ghost and used mounting tape to attach it to the top piece of cs, and then trimmed the cs and used a retired SU! corner punch. The sentiment was stamped in black. I attached this to the base card also using mounting tape. Note:  The orange polka dot paper is not part of the card I used it as a back drop.

Freshly Made Sketches #159

This month is almost over and I have been so busy. For three weeks in a row we went out of town. I have prepared for two classes designing cards and also making Halloween cards for ten people, grandkids and card making friends. It is important to me to try and make and submit at least one card a week to a challenge so I work on my mojo and remember all the steps it took me a year to learn.

This card for Freshly Made Sketches uses a NBUS embossing folder, a stamp I no longer have but had stamped, snippets of paper and a sentiment from a older stamp set. The image was stamped and colored with copics and then I trimmed it. I found an interesting snippet of designer paper to attached to the flowers. I really like the boldness and depth of this Sizzix/SU! folder. I stamped and trimmed the sentiment and added some bling.

Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes

This card that I am submitting to Seize the Birthday was made for a friend who really has a birthday on Halloween.  The inside of the card says Happy Halloween Birthday. The image was stamped and colored with copics. I applied Glossy Accents to the pumpkin and some silver Gellyroll pen to parts of the bandage. After attaching a piece of dsp the image was mounted with pop-ups. I stamped the sentiment and attached cute Twinkle Goosebumps (cool name). A pretty simple card but I find it charming and will make two more for Halloween.

CASology: Week 116 SPLATTER

Despite the fact that I am busy trying to finish up Christmas cards for my charities I could not let this week's CASology theme of splatter pass by. Admittedly I have several sets of splatter or grunge-type stamp sets. This particular set is my first and my favorite and it is from MFT. For some time I have wanted to incorporate this sentiment on a card and this seemed like the right time. I used two colors of SU! ink and applied to the lower right hand side of the card stock. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed. After trimming the top piece I attached baker's twine and this is what took me the most amount of time. The twine was all balled up and honestly I spent about half an hour untangling the mess. This top layer was attached to a second piece of cs.

CASology: Week 114 FLUTTER

This image I selected for this week's Casology with the cue word of flutter. Yesterday I started the card but this morning when I began to finish it things did not come together so I began again. In the meantime one of the ladies from my card making group wrote an email stating her mother had just passed away so she could not attend our get together. I set about to make the card again and this time I still used a mat to apply the ink but I chose a softer shade of blue and instead of using distress ink I selected SU! because I would have matching card stock. Once the soft sky ink was dry I stamped and heat embossed the cage with black ink and then I applied Versa Mark and used white embossing powder for the dove. I am pleased and decided to do a sentiment inside rather than on the front of the card.

Freshly Made Sketches #155

 

I like this current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches because I think there is a lot of variations you can try. Recently I purchased some new fall merchandise from SU and I think I can use this sketch. The image is from Purple Onion and I stamped it several times on different snippets of paper, fussy cut and then put it together. There are two pieces to this PTI die cut so I used both dies. The background designer paper were snippets that I attached to white cs. I stamped the sentiment from MFT and attached a little bling. Boy bling makes cards come to life, kinda like putting on lipstick. I attached a piece of SU ribbon and a piece of jute. That is it!

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #127

I am submitting this card to Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #127. I love this image and once I finished the card the cute figues made me think of a German Christmas card . The image was stamped and colored with copics and then I die cut the design and die cut a piece of textured red cs. I used stickles on the coat and hat pom pom, a gelly roll pen on the wings and lantern, and liquid applique on the snow. I attached the image with mounting tape onto the red mat. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed using white embossing powder. The image was attached to a piece of Kraft paper.
