CAS(E) THIS SKETCH! #92

I needed to make a masculine get well card so decided to go with a fall theme and chose this layout for the current Cas(e) this sketch! challenge. For a few weeks I have been working on Christmas cards and for the past few weeks we have been suffering under high temps and high humidity in San Diego. Next week is fall but I do not feel it in the air or see it in the tree leaves. Fall is my favorite season because I like the clothes, corduroy, sweaters and boots, not to mention cooler weather.
For this card I chose some snippets of paper in fall colors and then stamped them, heat embossed and fussy cut. The banner was die cut and the sentiment stamped and heat embossed.

Stamp - Unity "Grateful, "Owl" (sentiment)
Paper - SU! Naturals Ivory, snippets
Die - MFT "Jumbo Fishtail Banner Stax"
Ink - Versafine
Other - mounting tape (center leaf), embossing folder, corner rounder

Addicted to CAS - ORIENTAL

This card was made for ATCAS and the code word of Oriental. The stamp was inked onto watercolor paper and heat embossed. I used Twinkling H2O ink to color only the fan. Next I die cut the image and then traced the die onto a piece of gold paper, cut it and attached the image and this was matted onto a piece of previously embossed and die cut paper. For a few weeks I have tried to use up pieces of paper that I have either colored, or embossed or die cut or all of the above. Before assembling I stamped the sentiment.

Stamps - A Stamp in the Hand,"Woman with Round Fan," Precious Remembrance "New Day"
Paper - Tim Holtz watercolor paper, SU!, gold snippet, PTI white cardstock
Ink - Versafine, Twinkling H2O
Dies - Nestabilities "Curved Rectangle," Lil Inkers "Stitched Rectangles"

NBUS Challenge #2

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

This is my second entry into Darnell's NBUS Challenge #2. I purchased this stamp a while ago with the idea of creating a couple of cards for two of my card making friends. Prior to moving from the mountains to the beach I made a strong friendship with two ladies who I met as a SU! demonstrator. We became fast friends and had fun making cards together and almost weekly meeting at Starbuck's for a latte and doing a show and tell. Our threesome was called the PB&J Design Team, for Pat, Barb and Janet. The inside of the card reads, "good friends are like thighs, always sticking together." We now live 2 1/2 hours away from one another but we email oftenhttp://www.djkardkreations.com/2014/09/nbus-challenge-2-here-we-go.html and occasionally we drive up the hill for an overnight visit. I will give the card to Pat for her birthday which is in a couple of weeks.

The image was stamped and colored with copics (dah!) then die cut, matted, and attached to a second piece of white cs that had also been die cut. I added a touch of bling to finish the card.

Stamps - Inky Antics "Girlfriends Worldly Women"
Paper - Neenah, SU! Pixie Pink
Ink - Memento and Copics
Die Cut - Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangles

NBUS Challenge #2 - Hammy's Glamour Shot

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

This card was made especially for Darnell's NBUS challenge #2.  I am quite certain this is a glamour shot of Hammy taken in Darnell's back yard. He is probably thinking about the next design he will share with his mistress. What do you think?

The stamp is NBUS and I bought it a year ago when the local stamp store closed its doors, really wasn't that crazy about the set but I do feel this is a good drawing of Hammy. The image was stamped onto neenah cs and colored with copics. Then I embossed and die cut the piece of SU! paper and die cut a second piece of neenah. Hammy was mounted onto these two pieces and then all was placed on this neat piece of MFT paper. The sentiment is Paper Smooches.

Stamp - Inky Antics - "Forest Critters" NBUS, Paper Smooches "Chit Chat"
Paper - Neenah, SU!, MFT
Ink - Memento, Copics
Embossing Folder - Cuttlebug (1 of 4, unknown name)
Die Cut - MFT "Pierced Circle," MFT "Jumbo Fishtail Banner"

MERRY MONDAY Challenge #125 Vehicle

/

This card is being submitted to Merry Monday card challenge. This stamp actually looked like the inspiration photo but I deleted the tree because it took away from the truck. The mister and I belong to an antique car club and this card, and others, will go to friends who also belong to the club. I stamped and heat embossed the image onto Tim Holtz watercolor paper and used Distress markers and a watercolor brush. Silver At You Spica pen was also used and glossy accents was applied to the ornaments and ribbon. This piece was trimmed and then attached to silver/shiny cardstock and then a piece of white PTI cardstock. I chose not to put a sentiment on the front of the card.

Stamp - Stampendous "Christmas Truck"
Paper - Tim Holtz watercolor, PTI white cardstock, snippet of shiny silver
Inks - Versafine, Distress markers, At You Spica
Other - embossing powder, glossy accents, mounting tape

CASology Week 112 THREE

This is a special card for a friend of the mister and I am submitting it to CASology's theme of three. Paul will be 95 tomorrow and 125 friends will be attending his birthday party.  You would never think he was 95, maybe mid 80's. He golfs once or twice a week, walks constantly and he square dances. This must be the secret to longevity. Cal, aka the mister, asked me to make a card for Paul so I tied it into this challenge. There are three balloons, three different papers and there are three layers.

Paper - PTI, SU!
Dies - MFT
Stamp - Paper Smooches
Other - baker's twine, versafine, corner rounder

CAS(E) this Sketch! #91

This baby card is for CAS(E) this sketch!  People do spring cleaning and for the past few weeks I have been doing craft cleaning and trying to recycle/repurpose images or paper I have colored. This image was sitting in the "Finish" box so this is it. The image as always was stamped with memento ink on neenah paper and colored with copics and then die cut. The designer paper is SU! and the yellow is a snippet of swiss dots embossed paper. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed. Now that the card has been photographed I wish I had rounded the bottom corners.

Stamp - SU!, sentiment had no name
Paper - Neenah, SU!, snippet
Other - Memento ink, Copics, embossing power, circle die cut
