CASology Week 62: ARROW

The cue word for this week's CASology is Arrow.  I used a new stamp set and die cut set from My Favorite Things.  First I stamped and heat embossed the verbiage on the lower center of SU! cardstock.  The arrows and shafts were die cut also using SU! cardstock.  I made at least four attempts with the stars starting with punches and then stamps and when I was not satisfied I ended up using some Mrs. Grossman's star stickers.

Stamp - MFT "Right on Target"
Die Cut - MFT "Feathers and Arrows"
Paper - SU! Confetti White, Ruby Red, Lovely Lilac, Tempting Turquoise, Kraft
Other - Mrs. Grossman's stickers, Versafine, Hampton art clear embossing powder

ATCAS Challenge #22 Get Well

This card for ATCAS challenge #22 has the theme of Get Well.  I chose to use this older SU! stamp Upsy Daisy.  Using Distressed Markers I colored onto the stamp and spritzed it with water onto watercolor paper.  I trimmed the paper allowing enough room at the bottom that I could add verbiage and a touch of jute.  The verbiage was cut using two SU! punches.  Next using mounting tape I attached the piece onto a large piece of SU! Naturals White cardstock.

I really like trying different methods of watercolor and this particular image and layout I will use for a very non-traditional holiday card.  Instead of going out and buying new Christmas paper and stamps I decided to use what I have.  Despite this being an old stamp it is NBUS (Darnell lingo).  My Christmas card will be using old Bravo Burgundy paper and BB, Real Red and Old Olive ink.

Stamps - SU! "Upsy Daisy," MFT "All Occasion Sentiments"
Paper - SU! Naturals White, Daffodil Delight, watercolor paper
Markers - Ranger Distress Markers: Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Barn Door, Shabby Shutters
Other - Memento Ink, burlap twine

Less Is More Week 137 - One Layer Card "Get Well Soon"

The theme for Less is More is Get Well Soon.  I selected this older stamp which makes me think of Beatrix Potter.  I stamped and heat embossed the design onto watercolor paper and then colored with SU! markers, water and an aqua brush and blender pen.  The verbiage was stamped and heat embossed.

Stamp - All Night Media "Camomile Tea", MFT "Fred Bear Gives Comfort" (verbiage)
Ink - Versafine, SU! Markers: Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, Certainly Celery, Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, Basic Black
Other - Aqua Painter, Blender Pen, Embossing Powder

Note:  Try as I might I cannot get this post positioned the way I want.  I am doing okay with clean and simple but posting on the blog is still difficult for me.  Next month I will see my granddaughter in the San Francisco area (an 8 hour drive) and hopefully she can give me some much needed assistance.

CASology: Week 61: SILHOUETTE

This card is for CASology Week 61 with the cue word silhouette.  I have made a few cards with silhouettes lately and I like making them.  This particular stamp I used a few weeks ago but was not happy with the results.  The stamp is line art so I had to fill in with a black marker.  I colored with both distress ink and SU! ink pads onto watercolor paper using a makeup sponge in a circular stroke.  The sky is tumbled glass, the ocean blue bayou, and the sand is a blend of frayed burlap, chocolate chip and basic gray.

Last week we took four year old grandson Jake to the beach which is about 20 minutes from our home.  This was our first time putting our feet in the Pacific Ocean in the two years we have lived here.  Jake had a terrific time and I enjoyed looking and analyzing the ocean, the sky, the sand and the surroundings.  And that being said it gave me a much better perspective on how to make this card and I am satisfied with the end result.

Stamp- Deep Red "Beach Chairs"
Ink - Distress Ink: Frayed Burlap, Tumbled Glass
SU!: Blue Bayou, Chocolate Chip, Basic Gray
Ink: StazOn, Basic Black SU! marker
Other:  Watercolor paper

Addicted to CAS - Code Word: MUSIC

The challenge for ATCAS week 21 is music.  I have a music embossing folder and I have this cute House Mouse stamp but instead of the folder I decided to photo copy a sheet of music.  The mouse was stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copics and then die cut and attached to the sheet music with mounting tape.  I stamped and heat embossed the verbiage and then cut it out with a SU! punch.

Stamp - House Mouse " Mice-tro", MFT "Fred Bear Has a Birthday" (verbiage)
Paper - Neenah, Kelly, Sheet Music (a stray found in the piano bench)

CAS(E) this Sketch #44

This card is for CAS(e) this Sketch week 44.  I stamped the birds with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored them with copics.  I only used the branch of the matching die cut set and used a piece of leftover brown embossed paper.  The verbiage was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I applied Snow Marker to the cap of the center bird, and gave him some feather lines with a copic liner pen, and applied some random snow droplets.  This piece of card stock was trimmed and then mounted with pop-dots to a larger piece of white cardstock.

Paper - Neenah, scrap piece of brown
Ink - Copics, Copic Multi-liner, Versafine, Memento, Marvy Snow Maker
Stamp & Die Cut - Lawn Fawn " Winter Sparrows"
