CASology Week 65: CRISP

For this week's CASology the cue word is "crisp."  My first thoughts were lettuce or a clean white shirt.  Well I have neither stamp so I thoughts crisp should mean the look of the card such as clean and simple.  My take of crisp then is this one layer card and after scoring I then die cut the center of the panel and then embossed with an embossing folder.  The stamp image was centered in the middle of the aperature with ink and heat embossed.  Using an aqua brush and SU! markers I colored the pumpkin and flowers and applied a pearl pen into the center of the yellow flowers.  Thinking of You verbiage was stamped beneath the image and out of sight of the closed card.

CASology: Week 64: Harvest

This card is for CASology's theme of "harvest."  I selected this stamp set from Our Craft Lounge and chose several of the components.  On watercolor paper I first stamped the corn and did this by coloring with SU! markers and then spritzing with water and letting this dry completely.  Next I separately stamped the two baskets and the corn and heat embossed them.  The coloring was done with markers and an aqua brush.  I rub the marker on an acrylic block and pick the color up with the brush.  This image was die cut and then embossed within the die cut (too much work).  I mounted this piece onto another piece of watercolor paper.  Separately I stamped and embossed the verbiage, from a different stamp set, cut it, scored it and punched a hole and attached with jute twine.

Thoughts:  In the last few weeks I have made many cards in the fall/harvest theme and this is my favorite.  I consider myself a copic gal but I so enjoy using the watercolor techniques and keep trying different methods.  Heat embossing an image makes for controlled coloring.  Since I was a young girl I have loved to color and thus the name of my blog.  The spelling of colour was used to show my English birthplace and little did I know when I chose the spelling would I encounter so many Canadians and Brits - guess the joke is on me.  I was born in England to an English mother and an American father (during WWII) but because of my father's citizenship I am an American.

Less is More Sketch #10

This card was made for Less is More Sketch 10.  The wind catcher image was stamped with Versafine and heat embossed onto watercolor paper and then die cut.  Using an aqua painter, blender pen and SU! markers I applied the colors.  The stars and the circle were colored with At You Spica pens.  When the image was completely dry I applied Pacific Point writer pen onto an acrylic block and wet the ink then with the brush applied this color around the entire image.  Mounting tape was used to attach the circle image.  The verbiage was also heat embossed and cut out with a SU! punch.

This card is being submitted to Addicted to Clean and Simple challenge #23.  The image was stamped with memento ink and colored with copic markers and die cut.  I scored three lines on the bottom with scor-pal and attached orange baker's twine.  The verbiage was placed above the lines and I colored the leaf with distress markers.  Next I attached the image with mounting tape.

Week 63 for CASology is Autumn.  The stamp I have selected is from Memory Box and I stamped it in Memento Rich Cocoa and then colored with Copics and colored pencils.  All three layers of paper were die cut using Lil Inkers.  There were no leaves changing color in our neighborhood but I found some in Carlsbad Village, a neighboring town. 

Note: As my husband I were walking down the street collecting a few leaves a woman eating lunch in an outside restaurant told us people had been collecting leaves all the time they were sitting there.  We leave for the San Francisco area on Friday and I know on our eight hour road trip we will see many beautiful trees.  For those in that area Pacheco Pass, between I-5 and the 101, is one of my favorite areas in the fall.

Less Is More Week 138 - Fabric or Felt

 

 

 

The theme for LIM is to use fabric or felt.  I chose new products felt, die cuts and stamp.  The teapot die cut uses two felt colors and the flower in the center comes from a different die cut.  I assembled all the pieces with liquid glue and attached it to a piece of cardstock that had been die cut.  The center of the flower was a SU! candy dot.  This piece was attached with mounting tape.  The verbiage was stamp and heat embossed.
Note:  Usually I use black ink but decided to try aqua and although it looks good in person it photos light.  It reads "Brewing up a birthday wish for you!"

This card was created for CAS(E) This Sketch.  I used SU! Wetlands stamp set for the first time and I think it is a great masculine stamp.  I used SU! markers and a blender pen on a piece of Whisper White paper and then die cut the image using MFT pierced die set.  The verbiage was attached to the lower part of the image and then this was mounted onto Old Olive cardstock and then attached to Confetti White cardstock.
