CASology - Week 54 "GOLD"

Happy one year anniversary CASology.

The bee image was stamped and heat embossed on watercolor paper.  The coloring was done with SU! writers, an aqua painter and a blender pen.  Next I used a Versamark pad and SU! Gold Glory embossing powder for the crown.  Viva Inka Gold (gold) was added to the bees.  The verbiage was inked and heat embossed.  Lastly I lightly damped the Inka Gold and dabbed the ink on my finger and ran it around the edge of the w.c. paper.

Stamp - Unity, "All Hail the Queen Bee"
Ink - Versafine, VersaMark, SU! Writers (Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar)
Viva Inka Gold, SU! God Glory EP
Paper - SU! Kraft, watercolor

CASology Week 53 - COOL

When so many locations are struggling with intense heat what could be more "cool" than a trip to the beach.  Despite the fact that we live about 4 miles from the beach and have lived in our home for two years I have yet to put my toes in the ocean or stepped onto the sand.  But every time we drive down the hill to our community I get a glimpse of the Pacific Ocean and each time I relish in the view.

The image was stamped and heat embossed on water color paper and colored with Twinkling H2O's.  I matted the image onto SU! coastal cabana cardstock, attached some pop-ups and then placed on SU! naturals white.  The verbiage was heat embossed, and the lower corners of the card were rounded.

Stamp - Magenta (Canada)
Verbiage - MFT "Fred Bear Hits the Beach"

Less is More - One Layer Challenge

http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/

The challenge for this week is one layer and not a square or rectangular shape.  This card design originally came from Splitcoaststampers and I modified it to be one layer.  The neck and leg were cut with a 1 3/8" punch.  The image was stamped and heat embossed, and colored with SU! writers.  The crotch snaps were colored in black and then highlighted with white pigment ink pen.  The image is MFT.
Note:  This card was not submitted in time.  I have been having trouble submitting my cards and I am working on using a PC rather than the Mac.  Since I have spent lots of hours re-learning how to submit my cards I decided to post this card.

Addicted to CAS #17 - WATER

This is a very old stamp which I have not used before.  I have stamped with someone else's stamp and loved it, bought my own and then it remained on the shelf for several years.  I ran SU! writers over the stamp, spritzed it with water and then stamped onto watercolor paper.  Then I mounted it onto Taken with Teal paper, used pop-ups and then mounted onto Confetti White.  I loved the stamp way back when and after I made this card I realized why - it is a great stamp.
Paper - Canson 90# watercolor paper, SU! Taken with Teal, Confetti White
Markers - SU!, and blender pen
Stamp - Stampscapes "Lakeside Cove Large"

MUSE #25 and CASology: Neon

MUSE #25

I am attempting to submit one card for two challenges Muse #25 and CASology: Neon.  My card uses the color scheme and general layout for Muse and I focused on one item standing out.  For CASology the colors are Neon.   The image was stamped and heat embossed on SU! paper, colored with copics and mounted on black SU! and I used pop-ups.  The verbiage was stamped and heat embossed.

Stamp - Katie &Co. (glass), Impression Obsession (verbiage)
Paper - SU!
Ink - Versafine and ala Mode clear embossing powder
Copics - BG15 (aqua), YG06 (yellowish green), YG01 (green bice), RV04 (shock pink), N0
  and At You Spica (clear)

Less Is More - Week 127 SHADES OF GREY

The cue word for this Less Is More Challenge is Shades of Grey (Gray ?).  The stamp I chose is an old SU! Noble Deer which I stamped on a piece of Designer Series SU! and then heat embossed in black.  My first attempt was with basic grey ink and it was not dark enough.  The image was die cut with Nestabilities Classic Oval Large and the second oval piece was also embossed in the die (which I rarely do).  I popped the piece and attached it onto a second piece of basic grey and stamped the verbiage and  heat embossed.

Paper - SU! DSP (old), Basic Grey
Stamps - SU! Noble Deer, SU! verbiage
Ink - Versafine Onyx Black and ala Mode Clear Embossing Powder
Die - Nestabilities Classic Oval Large

CASology Week 51: FIREWORKS

I have not made a card for almost two weeks.  We had a family vacation (three generations) in the Gold Country of Central California.  The weather was in the low 100's which is probably 25 degrees hotter than the San Diego area where we live.  Despite not making cards I did write 25 Hero letters for Operation Write Home which I wrote during the quiet hours when everyone was still asleep.  I came home to a remodel that was completed (beautiful) but now  rearranging the bathroom and the bedroom needs to be done.   And while my husband found time to watch a goofy guy flick this afternoon*I embarked on a couple of card challenges.

For this CASology challenge I chose an Our Craft Lounge stamp which I heat embossed and colored with Copics and At You Spicas.  I die cut the image with a Nestabilities die.  The red, white and blue baker's twine was fitting for this card.  And there you have my card which reads Fire Works.

Stamp - Our Craft Lounge "Let Freedom Ring"
Paper - SU! Confetti White (one of my favorites)
Copics , At You Spicas gold and silver
Nestabilites - Labels Nine
Twine - Queen

A photo of my stamps which have been returned to their normal location, no more looking for them on the floor.
