CASology - Week 59 "Book"

This card is being submitted to CASology Week 59 with the cue word book.  Like many I do not have a stamp with books so I had to put on my thinking cap.  Recently I purchased a new magazine which had a free stamp and the issue had a phone stamp.  So I came up with phone book or address book.  I do use an address book and I keep one in my craft room.
First I typed the word "addresses" a few times in different fonts and then printed the page on my favorite kraft paper.  I selected this great font "academy engraved" and chose  18 pt. font size and selected a brown/red color.  Next I stamped the telephone stamp in black and heat embossed the image.  I trimmed the image to a size that fit my base card and I cut a small strip for the left side of the book and scored a line.  I placed the book on a piece on poster board but positioned it so a smidge of white showed on the top and the right side of the book.  I used pop-ups but also added a small piece of mounting tape on the right side so that the book would not sit perfectly flat, as if the book had been opened a lot.  Next I embossed the base cardstock with a medium size polka dot embossing folder like replicating the dial on the phone.

Paper - SU! Kraft
Stamp - Inky Doodles (free from Craft Stamper magazine)

CASology - Week 58: PAPER

The cue word for this week's CASology is paper.  My first thought was paper dolls and as a young girl I made my own paper dolls and clothes.   At the time my best friend was Deanna and we spent hours playing with paper dolls in her living room.  Paper dolls was my very first craft and I have very fond memories of those happy times.  Now many, many years later I have done numerous crafts from cross stitch to calligraphy and for the past seven or more years cardmaking.  Since January I have participated in CASology and my first cards were far from clean and simple but along the way I think I "got it."  The past month or so I played with watercolor techniques and it is my new love.  So for this card I did not select paper dolls but instead chose watercolor paper.
I stamped with SU! writers a stamp image from MFT and used five of my all-time favorite SU! colors, tempting turquoise, old olive, ruby red, perfect plum and tempting turquoise.  Next I used a new die cut from MFT "Paint Brushes" and made the paint brush.  Lastly I stamped happy birthday with my favorite hb stamp and thought the cursive image suited the card.
So there you have it old paper favorites and new paper favorites that span more years than most of you little whipper-snappers.

CASology Week 57 - Picnic

This card made for CASology's theme of picnic was stamped and colored with copics.   I  then die cut the center of  a second piece of white cardstock and the large piece of paper was embossed with an embossing folder and then mounted onto the colored image paper.
This is the first time I have matted an image and a minor problem is the back of the colored image shows on the inside of the card.  So I will attached a clean sheet of printer paper inside the card for writing purposes.

CASology Week 55 - Camp

The stamp for this challenge is Our Craft Lounge's Bear-ly Fishin.'  The components to the stamp set were all individual so I had to arrange them and there were a total of four pieces.  The image was colored with Copics and then I got to use my new die cut set from Lil' Inker Designs.  I waited all week for the order to arrive so I could use it on potential entrants into challenges.  The background paper was embossed with Cuttlebug's Traffic Jam.

This is my first card for One Layer Wednesday.  I marked the image with SU! writers, spritzed with water and stamped onto white Kelly paper.  Easy-peasy, so easy in fact I made several more and they "sucked."  The saying goes if it ain't broken don't fix it.
